My role as Product Owner and Technical Artist

As both Product Owner and Technical Artist, my role consisted of steering the game's vision, fostering an inclusive and welcoming work environment, and developing tools and systems to streamline the workflow of my colleagues.

Stepping into the role of Product Owner presented a notable challenge, as I navigated the responsibilities of leadership and provided support to team members. I looked out to make sure everyone felt like they had a voice in this project, a value we shared on this team. We struck a balance between aligning tasks with individual preferences for portfolio material and addressing essential project needs. Along with our frequent meetings, communication, and team bonding events, this helped to keep up team moral and limited siloing.

In my role as a Technical Artist, I actively contributed to the team and project across all disciplines by creating tools and offering support. I met frequently with artists and programmers and acted as their main source of communication. Additionally, my understanding and passion for game design enabled collaboration with the design team, leading to innovative solutions for challenges encountered.

RagBrawl made it through a competitive Greenlight process at Champlain College and continued development over the course of two semesters. Detailed information regarding the tools and systems developed for RagBrawl can be found below or on my blogs page.
